One step closer. I was able to find a lingering heroku gem library (1.2.1) lying around. I removed it from my system and I am not getting another error saying invalid database URL. At least it appears to be working now. I should be good to go from here. If I do run into any other issues, I'll cover it elsewhere. Thanks for the help.
