Warning, Heroku newbie :-) I've searched through the docs, etc but can't seem to find what should be a simple FAQ. Amazon S3 has 3 distinct regions (US-Standard, US- N. California, and EU-Ireland), each of which is priced differently. The Heroku docs say that transfers from the app to S3 are free since Heroku runs on the Amazon platform, but it doesn't say which region it is located in.
My question is: Which Amazon S3 region is Heroku in?
