Of course I mean locked-in in a soft way :P Perhaps the wrong term, sorry for my bad english I'm used to think in the old server way, so for example I was unable to grasp how to implement an hight availability setup with a secondary server. But thinking about that the remote connection should not be stil enough. Perhaps ActiveResource can help me to replicate the data...
