Use gem 'liquid', '2.2.0' The current gem release of liquid has an unnecessary requirement of Rubygems 1.3.7, which Heroku is not yet upgraded to. The next gem release of liquid will have this requirement relaxed to 1.3.6 so it's inline with Rails 3 and Heroku requirements.
