My app makes lots of DB updates when it starts up. It appears that
each DB transaction is written to the log file, so I quickly exceed
the 500 logs/min limit for a basic Heroku account.

I know db transactions are logged in development mode, but I didn't
think that was the case in production mode. And to the best of my
knowledge, it's working in production mode. (Noobish fact: I didn't
configure anything special -- I just did a 'heroku git push master' to
get started.)

Is there an easy way to cut down on the log noise? Or should I wrap
Rails.logger.silence around the especially "busy" parts of my code?

TIA.
