Hey everyone, I set up an rsyslog server today and configured my Heroku app to drain to it. My account is configured with logging:basic. I have a couple of questions around this:
1) I'm only seeing the heroku[router] logs being drained and not my application's logs. Is this because I'm on logging:basic? 2) What's the difference between what I'm doing now and the logging:expanded plan? $100/month seems really expensive to just ship off the full set of logs... for that cost, I'd rather setup a Mongo capped collection. 3) Heroku syslogs are in on different facilities. I've seen local5 and local3 so far. My goal is to send email+sms messages for WARN, ERROR, and FATAL errors, but I want to filter out the heroku logs into one file to separate out other ERRORs from other facilities. Is this possible? Right now I'm getting some noise in my email+sms alerts due to the overarching facility. 4) Is it possible to get the name of the heroku app in the log? I have 4 Heroku projects so I'd like to be able to differentiate what's going on where (production and staging environments with a frontend site and backend apis + resque workers). How is everyone else doing this? Thanks, Jon -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Heroku" group. To post to this group, send email to [email protected].
