That's one of the reasons we've built Progstr Filer [1]. It makes
accepting (uploading) and streaming (downloading) files from anywhere in
your app a no-brainer. It builds on top of Amazon S3, but adds powerful
features like full text search and analytics.
Our Heroku add-on [2] has recently moved to public beta. Give it a try,
