I have a small Sinatra app that weighs in at only 256K (excluding compiled gems, of course). However, every time I make a minor change to the app and push to Heroku, the slug size increases by about 0.1 MB. This is not due to adding gems or other binaries; this happens even when I'm pushing small text changes to the Sinatra application, and the size never seems to go back down.
This shouldn't be a Git repository issue. According to this page<https://devcenter.heroku.com/articles/slug-compiler>, the slug compiler shouldn't be affected by loose objects or new blobs because it purges the Git repository during compilation. The page says: 2. Remove unused files, including the .git directory, anything in log and > tmp, and anything specified in a top-level .slugignore file. > Why should changing a few characters in a view result in a constantly-growing slug size? More importantly, what can I do to force the slug compiler to start fresh? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Heroku" group.
