So last year I built an 8 foot hexayurt. I have no idea the final
cost. I think it was around $500.00. That includes the tape, tape
and more tape, Thermax sheets, rope, and tarp. So how much did yours
cost?

Part 2 - since fire issues came up with the building materials I am
looking at making a new smaller Hexayurt. This time I am keeping
track of what I did and what it cost and how to do it so others can
duplicate.
My Information so far
Building - 6 foot stretch Hexayurt with 6 foot walls. Building out of
Cardboard(Honeycomb Pad). Ideally I am painting the outside and
Mylaring the roof I might Mylar the whole thing.
The Building Material - Honeycomb Pad (48" X 40" X 1") - Why not 48" X
96" - cost
>From calculations I will need 20 sheets to build the 6' stretch at 6'
wall length. I calculated a 8 ft Hexayurt(6' chop top version not 8
foot) will take 36 of these.
These panels with shipping range from $12.00 to $18.00 each
Mylar will be between $30 and $70 depending on thickness and coverage
on the Hexayurt
I have not research paint yet I have researched additives for fire
resistance - $10 extra per gallon
No idea about the glue for the mylar my guess is $8 a can for spray
adhesive
I have tons of Bifilament tape except I am worried about fire issues.
Any test on fire treated cardboard?

That is it for now. I hope to create a spreadsheet and some paper
dolls to help others in this process. Has anyone explored Velcro or
legos? I am asking about joining walls together for a more portable
solution.
