Indeed, that's what inspired my efforts as well.

Video?  I'll have to track it down.  *grin*

The flashing I used was on the outside, and wasn't structural, as much
as weather-sealing.  I used the tar-backed flashing that is about as
thick as the "outdoor rated" panels (the mythical Thermax-HD) that I
actually ironed in place (to make sure they stuck properly, teflon
ironing sheets are your friend, but a brown paper bag will do in a
pinch ...) to seal the edges.
