Hi Shannon, I posted this the other day in different thread:
"As an important suggestion to others wanting to cut bevels, use a high quality box cutter blade, and keep them sharp. There is an excellent heavy duty knife made by Stanley® with the long snap away blades (I got mine at Home Creepo). The knife is big (about 10 inch, silver) and cost about 20 bucks, but as I was doing the work, I was thanking my lucky stars I wasn't trying to do it with a standard blade, or one of those cheap dollar store snap away blades." I had heard a table saw was the best way to go before I made my yurt, and I'm sure it's a great way to go. but didn't use one because I've been in an apartment for a while now. But after I was done using the Stanley knife, I was glad I didn't use a table saw. However, my reason is only because I wouldn't want to have to deal with the dust, but if you have a shop, that is a non-issue. The knife takes longer, but it is relatively easy and very clean but just make sure you buy a good knife. You definitely want snapaway blades, but good ones. The good ones are thick, and don't bend while you're cutting. It'll be the best twenty bucks you will spend. Here is the one I bought: Stanley 10-817 - Fat Max® Xtreme™ Snap Off Knife http://www.stanleytools.com/default.asp?CATEGORY=SNAP-OFF+BLADE&TYPE=PRODUCT&PARTNUMBER=10-817&SDesc=Fat+Max%26%23174%3B+Xtreme%26%23153%3B+Snap+Off+Knife Good luck!
