Hello hexayurt enthusiasts! (I sure do love hexayurt enthusiasts.) I'm finally on this group-- I feel a little "late to the party" but it's a great party anyway!
My boyfriend Chris Camp and I built a semi folding (pre-fab in 4 pieces), 8' hexayurt last year for burning man, and we made it with the tape hinges shown in the little video chat with vinay <http://hexayurt.com/> and here on youtube <http://www.youtube.com/playlist?p=PL9CE1AE21967A6FD8>. It was super easy. I presume someone else has already figured out the simple tape hinge and just never contacted Vinay about it, but it's been a pleasure to create some documentation and how-to data online. There's something I need from this google group: I really want a new photo on this website <http://www.appropedia.org/Hexayurt_playa>. That is the main page of the hexayurt-how-to info, and the image there is a little limited. I'd love a photo more like this<http://m.flickr.com/#/photos/prairieburners/5023468513/>. I've contacted the photographers, but I sometimes never hear back (are you on this list, o prairie burners?) If people have images they're willing to put "in the public domain," PLEASE send them. My preference is an 8' hexayurt, without an Anwar door (the current photo has one). It would be great if it used tape anchors and happened to be sitting at Burning Man, guyed down very solidly. If public domain doesn't work for you, there are several different options for uploading images on appropedia--I don't understand the majority of these but the options are here <http://www.appropedia.org/Special:Upload> toward the bottom under "licensing." In other news-- hexayurt gazebo? Would you share photos of that (just for my sake, not really for the internet?)
