I picked up a neat trick for pulling rebar a few years back. All you need is
a ratchet strap or a piece of rope.

First, loop the rope around your waist and tie it off. With a ratchet strap,
I just pull the strap through a hook on the end; that seems to be good
enough.

Next, squat over a piece of rebar until your knees are bent to almost 90°

Next, loop the dangling end of the rope or strap around the rebar. A few
twists and a half hitch will do; nothing fancy.

Final step: stand up.

I'll YouTube the rebar rope trick if there's interest.
