Im building an H12 for burning man this year, but with the group buy
problems and the high cost of some of the most ideal materials, Im want to
try something a little different and hope to get some impressions from the
group.

I plan to use liquid nails to secure either 1 in. or 1.5 in. R-tech expanded
polystyrene foam insulation (
http://www.insulfoam.com/images/stories/docs/6081_RT_IV.pdf) to a 5mm
underlayment board. The underlayment board would supply the rigidity that
the R-tech seems to lack (since it doesnt have a fiberglass shell).
Additionally, the R-tech has a thin foil shell which would be easy to patch
on the playa with foil tape. Ill attach my panels using the bi filament
tape.

Has anyone tried something similar and have some words of wisdom or serious
concerns with this plan?

Im not very familiar with R-values, especially when it comes to their
application in the Real World, so I'm unsure whether an R value increase of
2 (from a approximate total of 6 to 8) is worth the additional costs of
using the 1.5 in. instead of the 1 in.?

Further, Im debating whether to use metal straps (i.e

to add stability to my walls. These straps are pre-bent to 30 degree angles
which would seem to make life easier during set-up on the playa and would
simply require a cordless drill, screws and and a small amount of time.

Lastly, what is the angle of bend between roof panels? (My initial estimate
was 15 degrees, but I figured someone would know off the top of their
heads.)

Thanks for your help everyone,
