hi eva, the polystyrene filled perma r seems much more flimsy and breakable than the foam. ( not good in wind) i checked both and read a few posts on this in teh hexayurt appropedia site and then looked at the Rmax foam at the h depot, the difference is pretty big. the r max is much more rigid and stronger. I'd return it myself.
I'm picking up my rmax at home depot in salt lake city, ( I'm coming from austin) doing a prebuild there, and then going to b rock. you can buy the rmax by calling a store ahead and picking up on the road which I have done. something to consider. also do the mini model build they suggest with some foamcore board before assembling the whole deal. this was well worth the time for me as a pre education. all the notes I've seen say do as much preplanning before getting to the playa as poss. the hexayurt site has all the specs videos and info. also its likely with the poly boards you may only get one years usage out of them so you may end up paying the extra anyway. just my opinions fouffypanns :>) On Aug 16, 2011, at 12:16 PM, Eva wrote: > Its my first year 2 and we don't have a home depot near by.
