what about a hexa-tent made from R+Heatshield<http://insul.net/prod_heatshield.html>? The site says it can span 8 feet unsupported. A multi-layered skin (nested shells suspended one inside the other) would also be insulating with the dead air space between the shells. Cut, tape, hang from a metal tube frame...
