Jay-- I love this piece that you posted. I was ready to argue that
tuff sheds might even be cheaper than hexayurts, however I did look it
up: The lowest price tuffshed (6x6 floorplan if sent to Fresno) and
it's $979. Possibly less insulated than a yurt, and to get to the 166
sq feet of a standard footprint hexayurt, it's a $2,350 tuffshed.
It would be interesting to see where the tuffshed "Village of Hope"
came from in Fresno. Who ponied up the cash, and did they get any
materials discounts, and whether or not Fresno wants more shanty
housing.
A HexaHope Village could be an interesting Burners Without Borders or
Hexayurts Without Borders gig. (PS: I made up Hexayurts Without
Borders and would be happy if someone wanted to pick it up and run
with it)
