For what it's worth, A guy I work with said that one year he found a 20' geo-dome for really cheap so he decided to go that route. He had been told to start building the top first. They brought it in a moving truck, and started the top of the dome on top of the truck. As it got higher and higher, they had to use cardboard boxes on top of the truck, but the weight started to compress the boxes and it quickly became an endless nightmare to build.
I don't have any personal experience with a geo-dome, but from what I've been told (similar to Cody's advice), it's quite the endeavor when things get where you can't reach, and too heavy to lift. It can also take quite a long time having to bolt everything together unless you have a big, orchestrated group.
