Who has a nice, simple improved door design to share? We have a classic (folding) H13 without a fancy standing entry or mudroom. In our first year, we simply did a vertically hinged flap with (no threshold). That door didn't close well on the playa. The next year we reinforced the door panel and door with thin plywood (luan) and real hinges. That worked better, but we still had problems with the door not closing well due to flexing of the panel after tie down. One reason is probably that we decided against having a threshold piece at the bottom edge of the door, presuming it would just get trashed, particularly in our first year without a wood skin.
We admired a number of nice door designs at Playgon Village in 2011 (our last burn), but I don't recall enough detail. Anyone got a nice door design that resists flexing to share? We're prepared to toss the door panel and start from scratch... Thanks, Mike from Seattle -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "hexayurt" group.
