& you can charge a battery from a vehicle too. I ran a cabin with 2 deep cycle batts, one charging in the vehicle as it was driven, the other used in the cabin.
Originally I planned to build a generator/hot water maker from a car engine, but then realized I already had a car engine in the vehicle. Easy! but no hot water connection, though that was possible (heat exchanger connected to the vehicle's cooling system with quick disconnects).
