Hi JB,

I'm not sure there's a consensus on best practices yet.
I personally have two windows, each equally spaced from the door. Both are 
hinged at the top, and secured open or closed with magnets. 
I tape furnace filters to the outside of windows, to keep the dust out. 
This allows both light and airflow in.

I haven't tried a ceiling vent yet. I figure that it would be an issue if 
there was rain.

My 5 gallon swamp cooler worked GREAT last year. Good call.
