For those who have an interest in constructing a Hexayurt but need some
pointers to get started, I am holding my 2nd Hexayurt Construction Workshop
on Saturday, April 6 2014 with a rain-date of Saturday April 13th. This
workshop is targeted mostly for people who have heard about Hexayurts but
have never seen one before, or are about to start constructing one for
Burning Man 2014. Note that this will be the only date I will hold this
workshop in 2014.
Topics of discussion will include:
- Materials used and where to get them;
- Hexayurt advantages and disadvantages;
- How to hinge, why to hinge, where to hinge;
- Hexayurt Life on the Playa;
- Why/how to bevel your edges;
- How to get it to Burning Man (safely);
- Heating & Cooling for comfort;
- Mods, upgrades, safety and sanity

Space limited to 40 attendees. At the time of writing this post there are
34 on the list. The workshop location is walkable from the DC metro (Red
line).

the help fielding questions!
I will be bringing two fully completed hexayurts for demonstration: my
original H7 stretch yurt, and the newer H12 all-velcro WolfYurt.
