Physical Aspects of Distributed Infrastructure The "lost classic" of hexayurt infrastructure design, that I've been sitting on for a few years after some corrupt, benighted fucktards tried to patent it out from under me when I considered raising capital to develop some of these idea into products. We were mid-way through negotiating a license that would have made the work available globally to small enterprises when... deal's gone bad. All I can say in my own defence is that in 2008 there was no strong equivalent of the Make movement or Open Source Ecology, there was simply no way I could see to take these idea and develop them outside of the business world. At the time I estimated it was going to take $100K to get started - it's not like there were thriving hackerspaces and fab labs in every major city in those days. I believe we now have the capacity to take some of these ideas forwards. Not everything in here is ideal for the Playa (you're not going to be digging holes, are you?!) but I think some of the stuff around solar thermal batteries and light diodes may be quite useful. I hope you enjoy it. And if the varmits that tried to thieve this off the world every cross my path again, I'll run 'em over with a steam-roller feet first. They may even lurk on this list, those road slimes.
