Another idea that has come is to make a cordwood circle, more or less a
circle of firewood with a door, maybe a window framed in, without any
mortar, wrap the outside perimeter with plastic sheeting and cap the circle
of firewood with a foam or osb hexaroof. If choosing a osb roof, is
painting with a roofing tar or other similar white or aluminum colored
roofing paint advisable? What is a good solution here?

May mortar the very top surface of the wood stack with cob to make a better
surface seal between the cordwood and hexaroof. I guess if I went with the
foam 4x8 panels I could just fasten it down with ropes and stake them down.

Anyway, a temporary shelter until a more permanent off-the-grid solution is
dug in, and I get seasoned firewood in the end, plus the roof can be reused
on other stacks later on or attached to 4x8 wall panels.
