Hey Wynn ~  Good Luck building!  Sounds like you're on the right track with
most stuff.  We used 1.5" but were also building some larger  - H15 -
yurts.  Bevel angles are 30 degrees (two 30s make a 60) for walls and 12 to
15 degrees for the roof, depending on how your taping works out.  You may
want an in-coming air filter (regular paper HVAC) down low-ish and a higher
vent to let out hot air.   I posted a drawing a week or so ago for an
openable DIY vent.
