I have taken my yurt to the playa for three burns. What I always do is put the
yurt in a small trailer. I have one of the harbor freight collapsible trailers
that I've put bigger wheels on. It works great and I can haul my yurt, a couple
of bikes and some water on it without any drama. I'd highly recommend a small
trailer for anyone carrying a yurt. I put the yurt on the bottom with plywood
under it and on top. Then pack stuff on top of that. My trailer has plywood
sides so most of the stuff is protected from the wind. And the damn trailer is
so handy that folks are always borrowing it to haul this that and the other
thing. I pull it with no problem behind a 99 passat, so most small cars would
have no problem. Just be realistic about how much weight you put in it. But for
hauling a yurt and other playa stuff, it's ideal.
