Black Rock Hexayurts is credentialed by Burning Man and BLM for 2016. Our Base Camp will be placed someplace on the Way Outer Ring Road near 7:00. This entails significant costs, allows us on playa Aug 25 with Gate 1 access and sets us up to better be able to take care of our old and new clients.
We've still several H12's available for this year. However, there's a mighty catch. In order to make sure we can take care of everyone, deal with weather events, late arrivals, etc, we must schedule our crew to assist our clients the day they arrive. This means we run out of time options for once Gates open. We still may be able to take care of you AFTER gates, depending. If you have experience assembling hexayurts on the playa, you don't need us and it doesn't much matter when you arrive. We will be at our base camp until early Tuesday morning, Sept 1. We include the following amenities with each hexayurt: Heavy duty interior tarp (you tape to outside), exterior tarp with 5" playa nails, playa tech or 4' table, 90 or 120 qt ice chest (cooler), two lousy camp chairs, 1 or 2 "light" windows (AC filters), 3/8" ply reinforced and hinged door, garden latch (your lock), throw rug and a broom. Also, enough tape for your assembly, rope halo and rebar. AirCon options available if your camp has power include a 5,000 BTU one room AC, ceiling vent/fan and extension cords. We do NOT do set ups. We do not easily support plug and play camps. While we can happily and easily (usually) schedule a crew person to share info and lead the tape ring, ultimate responsibility for erection is on the renter. Cardboard and inferior insulation tend to not be able to withstand the playa's incredible and all of a sudden winds. This moop was found along the highways last year after Burning Man, some with duct tape meant to hold panels together. Don't build cheap! Build off playa. Assemble on playa. A hexayurt is the best way to live in Black Rock City but creates some of the worst moop we can leave out there.
