Ugh, what terrible grammar in that last email. Sorry people. Typing into a
phone with work gloves on isn't really the best.

Last year my tape didn't stick well because;
1: unlike prior years, I tore the old tape off on-playa, wiped off the dust
a bit, and then applied tape immediately
2: the tape I had was a couple years old. The stuff just doesn't have the
best shelf life. I reinforced w/ some straps of gorrilla tape, and my poor
old rickety, 1" thick H15 survived somehow!

Today's solution:
1: tear off old tape before hitting the desert. Even if that isn't an
option, try this:
2: BRAKE CLEANER to scrub off the old dry tape residue. Tape stuck to it
immediately (and the tape I sampled today was again, a couple years old).
Acetone didn't seem to work as well, though its much cheaper.

MAGICAL!
