While it wouldn't be as strong/wind-stable, if you hinged either every
other side-wall, where it met the roof, or just opposite pairs, and used
velcro strips along where you would normally seal the walls to each
other, you could flip up the whole walls as if they were doors, and put
poles under the corners, and have much more of an open shape, that could
be closed/secured when you didn't want it to be open (weather, at night,
what have you)  I would do it with an 8' high wall if you are going to
be cooking.  I'd also put in a really good roof-vent at the top, if you
are going to be cooking, as well, like the one that was used in the
ziggurat recently, to make sure the heat draw was pulled out.  If you
really want to reinforce things, the thin metal that people were using
as door frames might go a long way toward stability.
