To Tom ,
For one thing , I am very happy to learn that the NEFFA
still has a few HG players !
The year Mike and Gisèle Mc Harg could not organise the Sharon
event , my wife and I , helped by
Nicolas Boulerice ( the HG player of " Vent de Nord ") decided to
organise an event in Montréal area .
We had but a few hours to turn a city pool buiding , used as a
pottery class into a dance hall .....
I had to crash learn to set up a w-site , maybe I missed you ?
That year , no American came , some people from Toronto ( Bonjour
Andréa )
did show up , wich is the same driving time than Boston ( 6 h.) . As
usual in Québec , dancers
did came in large number at night , wich save the day , so to speak.
That time , I realised that a
new generation of musicians , luthiers and dancers was now active and
leading the action .
Obviously I belong to the older group now, but I am glad that HG
playing is still alive .
Like you I swore " naver again " , ...well today I just run the CD
sales counter at Chants de Vielle
this is not real work .
Recently Nicolas and his friends took the flag , right now they
organise the only HG event on the
east coast . Many things did change since the first gatherings in St
Patrice de Beaurivage
( 1977 in my memory is still good ?) but the spirit goes on .

PS In Canada , duct/duck tape really is part to the Anglo culture , (
with the Red&Green Show )
and since they do not have that much ( culture ) we politely leave them
the exclusivity <g>
.
