Perhaps I have been hanging out with accordeonists too long, but when
things get very dry around here in the wintertime one approach is to take
the accordeon case (after you have left the instrument somewhere else!)
and put it in the room with you when showering every week or so (not in
the stall, of course...) it seems to do a good job raising the general
humidity of the instrument.  I tried it once or twice last February when
my gurdy tangents were particularly loose, and it didn't seem to help
much.
