The label says that the instrument was made by Pouget in 1875 and repaired by Pajot-Jeune in 1906. It has been restored again this year, 2006. As far as I know there were two Pougets, father and son, working from about 1866, so I'm not sure if this instrument was made by the father or son or by both. They worked in Ardentes, which is now a largish village on the road between La Chartre and Chateauroux and about 10 miles from St Chartier. This instrument has a number 443 so the maison Pouget evidently made quite a number of instruments. A second Pouget instrument has recently been sold from the same web-site.
