The clip is on Neil Brook's site at http://freespace.virgin.net/hurdy.gurdy/cottonclip.wmv It sounds low because it is a low string (G mouche) Mouche is normally a low tension string to keep it quiet DO NOT SLACKEN THE STRING Graham -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Anthony Shostak Sent: 14 December 2006 01:06 To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [HG] Cottoning video clips? Thanks, all, for the replies to my query. The video at hurdygurdy.org was helpful, and I've managed to get my new string sounding. But I'm wondering -- is it desirable to slacken the string before applying the cotton? The video sounds as though the string has been slackened quite a bit for the cottoning. While I'm at it, I just surfed across a DVD on set-up and playing http://www.elderly.com/videos/items/222-DVD1.htm . Anyone on the list have any comments on it? I saw none on the archives. Best, Anthony
