Dear list,
I added some MIDI tunes taken from the Galician Songbook
by Casto Sampedro Folgar to my web page. The bulk of this book is a
collection of tunes for bagpipes (gaita) and snare drum on G-C drones: wild
circle dances to a heavy 6/8 rhythm ("muiñeiras") and many more. It
includes also the four hurdy-gurdy tunes you already know through Marcello's
book.

Please
do not take too seriously those nasty MIDI sounds.
By the way, I agree
to Simon's fight against windmills. There is nothing "Celtic" to
this bagpipe music. And those references to Celtic-speaking people in Galicia
up to the 15th century are absolutely false. (But the little pre-Roman round
fortresses seem indeed Celtic).
