Thanks, Judith. I wish I weren't already committed to American Recorder
Society activities that evening...

Other Chicago Happening:

Saturday, April 14, there will be a gathering of hurdy-gurdy players for a day
of playing and learning together. I surveyed this list a while ago for
interested people, and we've been organizing off to the side. But in case
there's anyone who wasn't in on that original survey, who is interested,
consider this an invitation to participate!

I'm hosting at my house in Rogers Park, on the far North side of Chicago. No
cost, no teacher, just a bunch of friends (most of whom haven't met yet :-)
getting together to play. We've got almost a dozen people planning to come,
3/4 of them with instruments! :-) If you'd like to join us, contact me off
list for more information.

For those of you in and around the Chicago area:

the College of DuPage has an exhibition of Niblock’s work which will include a
live performance with Fred Lonberg-Holm.

    Phill Niblock

    April 19 to May 26, 2007

New York filmmaker and minimalist sound composer, Phill Niblock makes
thick, loud drones of music, filled with microtones of instrumental timbres
that generate many other tones in the performance space. Simultaneously, he
presents films/videos that look at the movement of people or computer driven
black and white abstract images floating in time.

    April 20 Program:

Hurdy Hurry (1999, 15:30) Jim O’Rourke, hurdy gurdy, recorded samples
