The Blowout is the annual gathering of the Bagpipe Society. It is not so
much a festival...more a big party with workshops, concerts and sessions
galore. This year's event will take place in the beautiful setting of
Polesworth Priory, in Staffordshire, England. As well as all the usual
bagpipe-related workshops, etc. there will be hurdy gurdy workshops
running all weekend led by Steve Tyler. The workshops will be
intermediate and advanced levels and will be progressive throughout the
weekend. The event takes place over the weekend 8-10 June, and weekend
tickets (which cover everything except the food, which can also be
ordered if desired) cost £35 if bought before 6 May.
