Thanks Arle.

In other news, (Note how I changed the subject heading to reflect the new
topic) my band Djinn recently had the pleasure of playing for a belly dance
festival. Here's a video of a very talented dancer, dancing to a traditional
Turkish 9/8 tune, and some improvisation and a drum solo.

Yes, I know that hg isn't a traditional Turkish instrument, as far as I know.
Neither is beatboxing. The dancers seem to like us anyway.

I just wanted to let anyone who has access to a good university
library know that Balázs Nagy and I have just published an article on
the Hungarian tekero in the current issue of the Galpin Society
Journal (LX, April 2007, pp. 181–89, plus color plates on p. 109).
The article provides a comparison to French instruments, some
information on history of the instrument, and features photos of our
very own Melissa the Loud playing one of Balázs' instruments. I
received my author's copy today, so the issue should be in libraries
quite soon.

Best,

Arle
