Thanks Roy,
The plans do have a chromatic row. This has been added to the design, which
was based on an instrument in the Germanisches Nationalmuseum. The plans
show a capo, also added, I am sure. I have not seen the write-up in American
Luthier #77, so I don't know how much that will add. Roy was going to check
to see if he had that issue.

I finally got a look at those plans with Juan W. and Stan L. a couple
of weeks ago. I'd say go for it. The plans are pretty clear, we didn't
really determine if the soundboard has any radius, I think there is the
standard guitarmakers radius (8 to 30 feet which is there to keep the
top from looking concave (as a truly flat top will). It also seems like
a pretty small torso, so I reckon it might not be as loud (which I was
saying the other day, might be desirable). I don't remember if it has a
chromatic row. Juan might have a better memory and Stan has the plans,
so I'll defer on the details. I would say "go fer it!" An added bonus
is that the sides are 3 or 4 pieces (like a violin) instead of those
long complex curvy sides like most guitar-shaped objects. All-in-all
I'd think it would be a good place to start. Especially if, like I did,
you have no appreciable woodworking skills.
But as always holler when it hurts.

They (2 sheets!) are cheaper than them wall posters, at worst you
caould frame them and hang them in you den or office, like my doctor
has pictures of golf clubs and I spend a lot longer sitting around
alone in there for pictures that simple...[grumble, grouse, etc)
