I've been hearing a lot about this band called Arcade Fire. When I play nowadays, people come up and say "Cool, a hurdy gurdy, just like in Arcade Fire! Man, I love that band." The freaky thing is, this is an actual popular band, well covered in the popular press and all that. They reviews always mention the creative, unique instrumentation, including bizarre instruments like a mandolin and a hg.
So I went to their webpage, which was so flashy it was unnavigable, so I went to their myspace page, which had actual sound samples. They sound pretty much like any other rock/pop band to me. Am I missing something here? Which track contains the hurdy gurdy? Can anyone confirm this as a hg sighting, or is this band just claiming to play hg in an attempt to seem cool?
