Scott is a fearless Hurdy Gurdy player.
It is good to challenge yourself once in a while with a tune
that might be a bit challenging. He basically wanted to know what keys you
press on a D/G hurdy gurdy so that you can play along with the CD.
The CD has many excellent and some difficult tunes on it. Unfortunately not too
many people seem to have it. Thierry Bruneau and Theirry Nouat play Vielles.
They have great arraignments and harmonies.
Track 7 which is Reel De Cultivateur and Clumsy Lover is absolutely incredible.
The version that Simon found is quite similar but differs in some places from
the CD. And to hear the same effect that you hear on the CD you need 2 Hurdy
Gurdys or possibly 6 or 7 fingers on your left hand. The right hand is OK with
just 5 fingers.
Simon found a version in A minor. To play along with the CD and to play it on
a D/G hurdy gurdy I transposed the tune in Barfly up to C minor.

The Tune starts on G
So if you would like to here the "scale" just play from G to G.
If you are like some of us and use numbers for the keys since the Hurdy Gurdy
is a transposing instrument counting from the left I use T for top row ( white
keys on most HG's )and B for bottom row ( the black keys on most HG's )
T 2 B 3 T 3 B 5 B 6 T 6 T 7 B 10 T 7
The tune starts on B 3
So play B 3 to B 10 to hear the scale
