Matthias,

I put some information on "Old Sarah" a blind hg player in London around
1800 at

http://www.altongate.co.uk/oldsarah/

Her life story is there and the names of some of the tunes she played
Also a Daguerrotype of her and her hg

Hope this helps

Graham Whyte (we met at OTW)

Subject: [HG] hurdy-gurdy in England around 1800

dear all,

does anybody know anything about hurdy-gurdies in England at the time
1790-1800. Which types did exist, which repertoire was played? Is
there any (famous) evidences close to this period?

thank you,
Matthias
