Oh, I am deeply interested in that too... I saw the websites of many makes,
each of them with different ideas...

and about that, I'd like to get some ideas for my HG which is being built
right now in Spain...

The maker will install three independent pickups (chanters, bourdons and
trumpet - that is why I won't have a mouche in the traditional position, but
three bourdons on one side and the trumpet on the other), which will be
connected to a canon plug, so that I can use a 3 channel XLR multi cable to
connect the HG to an amp/mixer... This maker's idea is to only install the
pickup system and the plug(s), so I would have to get myself a pre-amp / amp
/ mixer myself... What do you guys recommend for that? I do like
Weichselbaumer's idea (even though he uses 4 channels (one for the
sympathetic strings), and not 3), but I'd like some suggestions from Alden
and others here who understand about this... Ideally, I would get myself one
symple amp/mixer for my three channels that I could set up myself (much like
the one you at Olympic build into your HGs, only in a separate box) and feed
a singled mixed signal to the sound operator, instead of occupying three XLR
slots on the mixer for my band (and taking precious space that could be used
for more microphones for the rest of the musicians)... did I make myself
clear? - I don't understand about amplification that much!
