Sylvain,

I do not know how to play the hurdy-gurdy, I will take some basic lessons
when I get my HG in Galicia and then I will be off on my own.

Two things are very difficult in the beginning for the bagpipes: first,
tuning the chanter and drones correctly (I am used to the piano, which I do
not tune myself obviously! so my ear is still getting used to hearing if a
certain note is in tune or not). Second, how to keep the pressure in the bag
constant - the combination of arm pressure and rhythmic breathing is a
little overwhelming in the beginning. I cannot say I have got it, because I
only got 6 or 7 lessons this past August, but I guess I will have plenty of
time to practice on my brand new Seivane set in C (with a so-called "tonal
kit" that allows to change the pitch to D, changing the chanter e sections
of the two drones).
