Another thing I forgot to mention: I keep crickets (I don't feed them to 
anything; I just like the sound they make), and they get noticebly more chirpy 
when I'm playing hammered dulcimer.  (They also get noisy when I run water in 
the kitchen sink or crumple cellophane.)

Those frogs were LOUD.
The dog, on the other hand, pays no attention to any instrument at all.
