There are definitely some weird people on this list! (Me included)
A serious, even a little bit stupid question. I'm having some "temperament" problems. The moment I tune to a "just temperament" it feels as if I'm getting a dull sound without brilliance. I'm not that intelligent that I understand long dissertations about temperaments. I'm just looking for a good, standard temperament to tune both my HG in. (G/C and a D/G. A little bit like "tangent tuning for dummies". I was also under the impression that there was a little difference in string length (on a D/G) between the high D string and the low D. Example: High D chanterelle has, open, a length of 34.6 cm. The D octave tangent is, without adaptation to left or right, at exactly 17.3 cm. If I do the same for the low D, the D octave tangent needs a lot of adapting. These problems are starting to keep me awake at night (together with to much coffee and to much stress at work) so I'm starting to look old. Help!!!
