Congrats. I also have a Chinook on order. I would
suggest that you go to You Tube and simply type in
hurdy gurdy. There are many, many videos of HG playing
different types of music. You also need to decide
which tuning you want. I live in LA and the group I
will join soon uses the D/G tuning. Other areas prefer
the G/C tuning. Listen to the videos and decide. There
is one video that features a Chinook played by Cali
Hackman who builds them with her husband Alden. Type
in "Olympic instruments" and it should appear. Some of
these songs you will see played will amaze you at what
can be done with a Hurdy Gurdy.  Also do a google
search on hurdy gurdy. You will learn of several
builders in Europe and will learn much from the many
pages available. Good Luck.
