Not my thing, but check out the French band La Machine. Actually available here
in the US. Go to frenchtradmusic.com, and click the "Claudia Schiller Music"
link...the recording is listed about midway down the page, and there are a
couple of sound samples. They try to do a combination of traditional French and
what I assume to be more tribal elements (dumbek, didgeridoo). Might appeal.

Subject: [HG] Bagpipes, drums & didgeridoo - recording recommendation: " RANT"

Hi, all!?
?
I just happened across an album that I strongly recommend to anybody who is
interested in the sound of Scottish music, bagpipes or didgeridoo. It's called
"RANT" by the group Wicked Tinkers.?
?
I got my copy from Amazon.com - search ["wicked tinkers" rant]. It has some
wild combinations of pipes, drums, and didgeridoo. In some cuts, the 'doo acts
as a kind of supplemental pulsed drone to the pipes; in others it uses the full
range of articulation (boops, yowls, overtones) in concert with the percussion.?
?
Amazon's product description reads:?
"With this, their sixth CD, Wicked Tinkers have confirmed their place as
pioneers of the Tribal Celtic Music movement. Highland Pipes, pounding Drums,
Didgeridoo and Bronze-age Irish Horn are still here aplenty but on Rant they
explore new territory with more adventurous arrangements, the Uilleann or Irish
Pipes, new songs and friends."?
?
Are any hurdy gurdy players doing this sort of music? Why should the bagpipers
have all the fun?!!?
?
->> If any of you hurdy gurdy players would like to try some of these
arrangements, let's find a drummer and give it a try - I'd LOVE to try my
didgeridoo on this style!!!?
?
Very best regards,?
