Meantone and Just temperaments are totally different concepts

There are 9 possible meantone temperaments varying from 1/4 comma to 1/12
comma (equal temperament)
They are based on the distribution of the comma
The Ditonic Comma is a very important discrepancy used in deriving equal
temperament. When rising by 12 consecutive perfect fifths we make one visit
to each of the twelve semitones of the scale before arriving at the note we
started at. If we flatten each of the fifths by 2 cents ( 24/12 ) the pitch
of finishing note will be an octave multiple of the starting note pitch

Just temperament is based purely on the perfect pitch ratios of the
intervals
It is not suitable for keyboard or any instrument which can be played in
many different keys

Subject: [HG] Temperament for accompanists

Someone not too long ago inquired about how just intonation for the
hurdy-gurdy fits with equal temp instruments like the guitar. The web-site
below introduces guitar fretboards made with just intonation (hard to
believe--it must limit the useable keys) and meantone fretting.
