Ah. Interesting. If I wouldn't have just checked the code I would have thought a private noarg constructor was allowed for components also - but you are quite correct; ComponentType uses Class.newInstance() to instantiate components. You wanna make a patch, John? (Probably refactor the code for this out of the persister package and onto ReflectHelper...)
