No, it is nothing to do with cascades.

I was being ultra-conservative. This is supported in
hibernate-mapping-2.0.dtd (ie. Hibernate2). You can
even allow it in 1.2, simply by editing the DTD.

(Note that this is renamed "inverse" in H2)
